- Between 1969-1971: Maureen Roberts changes her name to Rina Reynolds and tries acting in Hollywood. After a sexual assault incident, she becomes pregnant with Roman Bridger.
1970s
- February 4, 1970: Roman Bridger is born and given up for adoption by Maureen.
- Approx. 1970: Mark Kincaid is born, future husband of Sidney Prescott.
- Approx. 1971: Maureen Roberts attempts to expose her sexual assault, and is blacklisted in Hollywood by Sunrise Studios in a cover-up. She returns home to Woodsboro, CA and meets Neil Prescott. 1971 also sees the birth of Dewey Riley.

1980s
- Mid-late 1982: Martha Meeks is born, Randy Meeks' little sister and future Mother to Mindy and Chad Meeks-Martin
1990s
- Between September, 1993-August 1994: Woodsboro High, Class of '12 are born within this time frame, including Kirby Reed, future survivor and FBI agent; Charlie Walker (specifically on Sept. 1, '93) and Jill Roberts (specifically in July of '94). 1994 also sees the birth of Richie Kirsch.
- Approx. September, 1994: Sidney Prescott and Billy Loomis begin dating as high school sophomores.
- Approx. September, 1995: Roman Bridger locates his birth mother, Maureen Prescott, who refuses him. Afterwards, he stalks her and records her many affairs. One affair she had was with Hank Loomis, and Roman uses this to convince Billy to kill her. Shortly after, Nancy Loomis find out about the affairs and leaves Hank, devastating Billy.
- September 28, 1995: Exactly one year before the events of 'Scream', Billy Loomis convinces Stu Macher to help him murder Maureen Prescott, and cover it up by framing Cotton Weary, another man Maureen had an affair with.
- Between September 1995 and September 1996: Cotton Weary is successfully framed, and arrested for the murder of Maureen Prescott. Sidney testifies in court as a key witness, sending Cotton to prison, but Gale Weathers is a skeptic about Cotton's guilt and writes stories against Sidney.
- Between Late 1995 and Early 1996: Gale Weathers writes her first book entitle 'Wrongly Accused: The Murder of Maureen Prescott.' She also plans to write a follow-up book, due for the end of 1996.
- Between Late 1995-June, 1996 (Sidney's Junior Year) OR Late 1996-June 1997 (Sidney's Senior Year): Sidney Prescott plays Tiger Lily in a Woodsboro High production of 'Peter Pan' alongside Judy Hicks, who played one of the Lost Boys.

- Between September 1996 and September 1997: Mr. Carpenter proposes to Christina in their senior year of high school, and unbeknownst to Mr. Carpenter, Christina is pregnant with Billy Loomis' child, Samantha. Meanwhile, Nancy Loomis grieves the loss of her son and conspires for a copycat killing spree in revenge for Billy's death. She does not know about Billy and Christina's affair, and knows nothing of the Christina's pregnancy with her biological granddaughter. She also loses significant weight and receives plastic surgery to change her identity to Debbie Salt.
- Between May and July, 1997: Sidney Prescott, Randy Meeks and Judy Hicks graduate from Woodsboro High School.
- May 19, 1997: Samantha Carpenter is born.
- Between August and September, 1997: Sidney Prescott and Randy Meeks move to Ohio to start their lives again, enrolling at Windsor College where Sidney takes Theatre and Randy takes Film. Judy Hicks stays in town, presumably pursuing a career in law enforcement.
- Undetermined Dates, 1997: Gale Weathers publishes 'The Woodsboro Murders,' based on the events of 'Scream' '96, and it becomes a best-seller. She also undergoes controversy with fake nudes, which she claims to be her face on Jennifer Aniston's body. Sunrise Studios gives 'Stab', a film based on 'The Woodsboro Murders' and its novelization the green light. The film begins principal photography, and casts Tori Spelling as Sidney Prescott and Jennifer Jolie as Gale Weathers among others. Meanwhile, under the alias of reporter Debbie Salt, Nancy Loomis prepares her revenge killing spree by contacting serial killer Mickey Altieri to be her partner.

- Approx. Mid-1998: Sidney Prescott is given an honorary diploma from Windsor College after the murders, and agrees to do an interview with Cotton Weary and Diane Sawyer after Cotton redeemed himself in Sidney's eyes in 'Scream 2'. Cotton begins his own talk show called '100% Cotton' after the interview, but soon earns a bad reputation as a con-man. Meanwhile, Gale Weathers writes a new book entitled 'College Terror,' a.k.a 'The Windsor College Murders,' and it's released by the end of the year. Sunrise Studios fast-tracks the production of 'Stab 2,' to be released at some point in 1999.
- Between 1998 and 1999: Sidney Prescott moves to Monterey, CA and adopts a Golden Retriever named Cherokee. She begins working from home as a crisis counsellor, hiding her identity with the made-up name of "Laura."
- 1999: Gale Weathers leaves Dewey Riley to further her career opportunities in New York and L.A. 'Stab 2' gets a wide release and 'Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro' is immediately green-lit, but is to be the first of the series to be completely fictional. The job is given to up-and-coming music video director Roman Bridger.
2000s

- Undetermined Dates, Early 2000's: Sidney Prescott meets Mark Kincaid and they date briefly, but it doesn't work out for them the first time. Sidney then enrols in martial arts classes to gain experience in self-defence. This is also around the time Judy Hicks is recruited to the Woodsboro Police Dept. Sidney's dog, Cherokee also passes away within this time frame, peacefully and of natural causes after several years of loyalty to her.
- 2000: Gale Weathers, now engaged to Dewey Riley, writes her fourth book related to the murders entitled 'Hollywood Horror,' (following 'Wrongly Accused,' 'The Woodsboro Murders' and 'College Terror') based on the "Hollywood Murders" of 'Scream 3.' Dewey begins an intense course of physical therapy to heal from his many wounds.
- 2001: Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley get married and live together in Woodsboro, CA.
- 2002-2005: 'Stab 3: Hollywood Horror' begins development, following the tradition of basing it on the true story book written by Gale Weathers. The original 'Stab 3' was meant to be entirely fictional, but after the murders involving the film's director, Roman Bridger, the project was reworked.
- December 14, 2002: Tara Carpenter, half-sister of Sam Carpenter (now 5 years old) and second daughter of Christina Carpenter is born. Mr. Carpenter is her natural father.
- Between November and December, 2003: Quinn Bailey, daughter of Wayne Bailey and sister of Richie Kirsch and Ethan Landry is born.
- Approx. September 30, 2003: Mindy Meeks-Martin and Chad Meeks-Martin, twin children of Martha Meeks and posthumous niece and nephew of Randy Meeks are born.

- 2006: 'Stab 3: Hollywood Horror' is released to wide audiences and completes the original 'Stab' trilogy. The first three 'Stab' films will be the only ones of the unfolding series to base their events on reality.
- Between 2006 and 2007: Sunrise Studios tries to license another 'Stab' movie based on real-life events; either a prequel about Maureen Prescott, or a 'Stab' remake, ultimately failing to do so. The film's attempts are halted by Sidney Prescott when she threatens to sue Sunrise if they attempt to use real-life events she's associated with anymore in their movies. Production of 'Stab 5' takes place sometime in 2007.
- October 26, 2007: 'Stab 4' is released to wide audiences and is the first 'Stab' story to be completely fictional (apart from the original and scrapped concept for 'Stab 3: Return to Woodsboro'). The studio hears Sidney out on her threat, however they keep their rights to Sidney Prescott's character. The film is released alongside 'Saw IV.'
- October 24, 2008: 'Stab 5' is released, just missing the decade anniversary of the first 'Stab.' This film was made an infamous chapter in the series for having a time travel plot. It is released alongside 'Saw V.' Filming of 'Stab 6' follows immediately.
- September, 2009: First annual 'Stab-a-Thon' takes place, coinciding with the 13th anniversary of the 1996 "Woodsboro Murders," hosted by Woodsboro High Cinema Club president Charlie Walker and vice president Robbie Mercer.
- October 23, 2009: 'Stab 6' is released alongside 'Saw IV,' following tradition, and has more to do with a cyber stalker. Filming of 'Stab 7' follows immediately.
2010s
- 2010: 'Stab 7' is released to wide audiences and, for the first time, takes itself outside of the story line of the first six films and takes a more meta approach to its storytelling, as seen in the beginning of 'Scream 4.' It is the final numbered 'Stab' film in the series. Sometime throughout the year, Sidney Prescott writes a self-help book based on her experiences called 'Out of Darkness,' which gives a more accurate and detailed account of the events she was involved with.
- September, 2010: Second annual 'Stab-a-Thon' takes place.
- Between December 15-24, 2010: Sam Carpenter (now 13) discovers the origins of her birth (involving Billy Loomis) while looking for Christmas presents. She confronts her mother, Christine about it, but Mr. Carpenter overhears this and decidedly abandons the family immediately.
- Between 2010 and 2011: Jill Roberts begins a secret relationship with Charlie Walker after her boyfriend, Trevor Sheldon, cheats on her. Together, they conspire for a 15th anniversary killing spree upon learning that Jill's cousin Sidney Prescott is coming back to her hometown of Woosboro, CA to promote her book.
- 2011: Dewey Riley finally finishes his intense physical therapy, which has healed him significantly, including the limp he's seen to have in 'Scream 3.'

- Between October, 2011 and October 2021: Kirby Reed, surviving the events of 'Scream 4,' moves to an undisclosed location.
- Between 2012 and 2015: Sidney Prescott and Mark Kincaid reconcile and get married. The pair eventually have three children together (two daughters, and one undisclosed), who remain unnamed. In the meantime, Gale Weathers moves to New York City, and Dewey Riley splits up with her after two months, bringing an end to their decade-long marriage.
- 2016: Sam Carpenter (now 18, going on 19) leaves Woodsboro, abandoning her sister, Tara (now 13).
- Between 2016 and 2019: After serving as Woodsboro Town Sheriff for approximately 16 years, Dewey Riley passes the position off to his deputy, Judy Hicks.
- 2018: Kirby Reed gives a public interview about the events she went through and how she managed to survive.
- 2019: Gale Weathers and Dewey Riley cut ties altogether, but Dewey still watches her on TV from time to time. This also marks the year that Tara Carpenter and Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin begin their freshman year of high school. Sidney and Mark also have a third child together during this year, again unnamed.
2020s
- January 14, 2021: The soft reboot, 'Stab' (2021) is released, directed by Rian Johnson.
- May 27, 2021: James A. Janisse and his wife, Chelsea, otherwise known as the "Dead Meat" duo post a devastating review of 'Stab' (2021) on "Film Fails". An Easter Egg suggests the review gets 122,096 views, which is the date of the release of the first 'Scream' (Dec. 20, 1996), and "Film Fails" gets 821,939 views, which is the date of 'Scream' creator Wes Craven's birthday (August 21, 1939).
- March, 2022: Sam Carpenter meets Richie Kirsch.
- May, 2022: Username "StabHead" uploads "Not My Stab! Join the StabHead Army and #RedoStab2021!!!" to a message board and it receives over 12,000 views.

- October, 2022: The Bailey family finds out about Richie Kirsch's death and conspires to revenge kill Sam and Tara Carpenter.
- April 2023: Sam and Tara Carpenter, along with Chad and Mindy Meeks-Martin relocate to New York City to attend Blackmore Univerity. Here, Sam and Tara become roommates with Quinn Bailey while Chad becomes roommates with Ethan Landry. At this time, Wayne Bailey also joins the NYPD as a detective, and Sam begins therapy.
- May, 2023: Sam turns 26 and takes on two unnamed but evidently terrible jobs in order to make ends meet for her and Tara.
